painted tin time dial with Roman on chapter ring, outer minute ring marked with ticks, bold every 5 minutes, sunburst cutout open escapement, spandrels with polychrome painted flowers, lower calendar dial painted tin marked Calendar,/Patented/Sep. 19, 1854, Nov. 17, 1857, Jan. 31, 1860/March 4, 1862 with Arabic on chapter ring, cut-out windows, at 3 and 9 o'clock, with left days and right months on revolving drums, brass 8-day time, strike and date weight driven movement with 2 interior labels, including one on case with Eight Day/Brass Clocks,/Made and Sold By/Seth Thomas/Plymouth Hollow, Conn. with directions and circular patriotic vignette, and second on door with Directions for Setting Up This Clock...Seth Thomas Clock Co..., door with original middle tablet with gilt spread-winged eagle atop shield and U.S. flag with canton having 4 rows of gilt stars in 8-8-8-9 pattern (total 33), with branching rose bush garter surround in gilt, rosewood veneered case with hexagonal half columns (3-sided) continuing into crown and stepped out base, in original cleaned varnish finish, 5.8" 18.2 x 30.5" high. (Duy Ly, 1993: 258, fig. 628) Condition report Slight stains on calendar dial, hands replaced, currently running. We do not guarantee working order of clocks.
