Description

Condition: the fusees have shallow rounded grooves, appropriate for gut and this time period. The plates and other wheels appear Victorian, and it has a regular anchor escapement, still later bridge to support the rear pivot and pendulum. The finals and top handle are perhaps 50 years old, turned brown with natural oxidation. 20th century pendulum probably came from a postal dial clock. Dial diameter 6". Clock ticks and strikes and certainly looks the part of a clock made in 1775 or so. The clock sat in the Blackwell music room, has a pull-repeat lever+cord. . Height 17.5 inches
