Description
Condition: very good to excellent original condition. There is a bit of flaking on the dial, at the end of the word Boston, and other small losses. The movement is typical of Willard work, tall plates with heavy baluster pillars, slim arbors, delicate wheels, and held to the seatboard with turn screws. Mahogany case retains original fret and finials and with and old or perhaps original finish, nicely waxed. The hood lifts up and out. Pendulum swings in an alcove behind the movement. Hands are original. For similar clocks, see Distin and Bishop, The American Clock, pages 98-99 (no numbers on those pages) Height 35 inches
