Description

Condition: on the front plate of the movement, someone has ground off the Howard logo, leaving grind marks behind; it is held in the case with a center screw from the rear; the whole etched with Glo-Brite to give it an older appearance. Then they applied the untrue name of Curtis to the front plate. The rest of the case was made by either Conlon or a contemporary to have the appearance of an antique. The top eagle is carved wood with nice detail; bottom tablet is a naval encounter between the "United States" and the "Macedonian" (with flaking ); center throat with a gilt memorial to G. Washington and other military officers, and with the name Lemuel Curtis, Concord. Height 48 inches
