Description
Condition: Veneered case with brass inlay in generally good condition with two shrinkage cracks in the sides near the top and a small separation at the bottom right mitered corner. The veneer on the case appears to be pearwood with a dark finish applied that has age cracked. Original dial has been re-blacked and signature strengthened by Dana, and then lacquered over; needs further attention. Hands are original. Heavy plate brass movement with engraved edges is signed. Engraved pendulum is original. Brittens (Baillie) lists Dan'l Saunders at 7 Knightsbridge from 1802--36. Ht. 16"
