Description
Condition: somewhere along the line the scrolls got broken off and the stubs were rounded. [for the cousin to this clock, see Palmer's Treasury of American Clocks, page 73, where an Erastus Hodges at the Henry Ford Museum has a similar "scroll-ectomy"]. Set of Don Bruno finials are proper replacements. Otherwise, this is a fabulous clock, with a superb dial, great Torrington tablet, and excellent label. There are good cabinet makers in Connecticut who can re-do these scrolls, and it still merits your attention. Would have brought $4000 if scrolls complete. Height 29.7 inches [76cm]
