Description
Condition: the case is in good condition with some restoration: the top 2 "ears" replaced long ago, nicely done, and the very base molding replaced in oak (looks OK, but walnut would be better) . The mov't mounting blocks have been replaced. Dial, hands, tablet, pendulum and hardware are original. Note this movement was originally designed by Hiram Camp, and an earlier and much heavier version was used in the 1850s [see 1852 C. Jerome catalog]. New Haven brought back the movement in the 70s to facilitate export of a "fusee" clock to England. Also see Ken Roberts book on Conn Clock Technology (1970) page 261. Good label on rear. Height 22.7 inches [58cm]
