Description
Condition: other than the clear tablet and refinished mahogany case, this is a neat clock. Dial is quite nice, with some loss near the numeral 8. Embossed cast brass alarm disc is very heavy with Roman numerals. Has a good clean label. The workman sanded the edges of the doors to improve their fit to the case. Large ball feet have some age, but are replacements. Compare to lot 115, which has the same Ionic capitals and tu-tone case. Also compare to fig 261 in Distin and Bishop. A sliver of veneer is missing top of door, and top right corner of cornice has damage. Height 40 inches [100cm]
