Description

Condition: this clock came to us from a home in Connecticut, and is as-found. Flutes are original; leather on the bellows has failed, however both tops are still there. In the front center of the base, was a standing deer, now absent except for his 4 hooves. In the base of the clock, which is carved to simulate rocks, there has been some worm damage [now inactive]. The spread wing cuckoo bird at top is nicely carved. Balance of trim is ivy leaves, not usually found on a cuckoo. Dipping cuckoo bird with articulated wings, has 50% paint loss. Numbers 12-1-5+7 are replaced. Large and robust movement retains original pendulum. Ht 21.6 [55cm]
