Description
Condition: the original gold leaf was well worn and has been brushed over with gold paint, and still more flaking off to expose the gesso. The statue is in amazingly good condition, only a strip in the back of the figure with a replaced piece of wood that does not show. Appointments on the horse are good, his mane, tail, bridle and blanket all with good detail. One of the hammers on the movement has come off and is in a bag; the pendulum is home-made. Although it needs lots of TLC, this is a great example of early 19th century Austrian work. Ht 22"
