Description
C.1950. The workman lengthened the running period of the clock to around 3 weeks by milling off the original gear on the going barrel, and soldering on his gear, nearly 3 times the circumference of the original. The workmanship is pretty good, however he spoked the great wheel with a jeweler saw and his work is evident. The movement has gone some time without a dome and is dark; silvered chapter ring is also oxidized. Old pendulum is ground off on the bottom to give it enough length for time keeping. This is a small clock that will clean up nicely and you can probably buy a dome from Ben Bowen. Ht of clock frame = 7.9" [20cm] add another 2" [5cm] for base. Needs dome around 7.8" wide by 9.5" tall.
