Description

Condition: the dial plate has a single horizontal crack. The animation works pretty well, lift wire on top to start. There are a remarkable number of moving figures on the dial that include from left: a boy selling carrots, moving his arm, a cat moving its head, the horse moving both neck and head (separately), the black smith hammering nails into the horses shoe (his head and hammer move), his daughter nodding her head while watching. A teeter-totter with 2 boys, 2 chickens pecking the ground, and 2 chicks also, and a man near the base of the tower chopping on a log. The maker started with 2 or 3 of the same lithographs and then cut out the pieces he needed to animate. German lever clock in tower keeps time. With a sticker inside: W. Hrubesch in Prag. Width 16 inches, 41cm, Height 12.7 inches, 32.5cm
