Description
Condition: the top is made from old wood and moldings, doweled to match the case. This clock tells an interesting story of style, since the serial number places the movement production around 1884-85, well before Art Nouveau came into vogue. Since most folks took their clocks every few years for cleaning and re-stringing, it was natural for a clock repairman to offer upgrades at the time of service, hence it is likely that the pendulum cover , which is a clip-on style, and the dial center were added around 1905. Clock has rod strike, but strike hammer is missing. Pulleys match. Height 47 inches
