Description

Condition: The Edwardian red oak case has been refinished, has some nice style with free standing turned columns, all 4 original finials, pierced frieze on the front below the dial, and open fretwork at the rear of the top, and along the sides. The pendulum is an old replacement. Chimes Whittington tune on the quarter hours. Typical of many chiming clocks made at this time, the chime movement was engineered to add on as an option, resulting in its application below, rather than beside the time movement. This clock was retailed by J. Alford of Brighton, whose name is weak, but just legible on the dial. Height 24 inches
