Description
Condition: the dark green lacquer case has some dry splits and some loose ormolu here and there, but is overall very good considering it is coming up on its 250th birthday. The well made crown wheel movement has some nice features, including a bell shift that allows it to ring a low bell on the halves, and then drop down and ring on a small high bell for the hours. The click springs have been repaired however the original iron clicks are still intact, and the movement is ticking and striking. Convex/OG dial has a chip bottom margin near 5; nice gilt hands are original. Height 37 inches.
