Description
Condition: generally good condition, the movement complete and mechanically sound, the bells sound quite nice as they belt out the Whittington tune and the set of gongs plays the Westminster melody nicely as well. The case has been refinished; was originally "Old English" in color, now a bit lighter, but much of the stain is still in the wood. The tips of both finials are missing; delicate side frets are cracked and will need gluing; couple of minor bits are missing. The attractive dial is bright with the gilding still bright on all spandrels, and with 3 subsidiary dials in the arch for F/S, Chime-Silent, and Whittington / Westminster. Height 27 inches
