Description

Condition: the original gilding is in very good condition. In this clock Homer has his hand on a sitar, his flute laying idle with a wreath. The frieze below shows homer with an adolescent, warming their hands at a stove, preparing to play a lyre (at left).. For a similar statue of Homer, see Catalogo de Relojes del Patriminio Nacional Page 162. This is a wonderful color presentation of a French exhibition of clocks at Madrid in 1987. There is no pendulum for this clock. Numerous hairlines in the porcelain dial. Height 14 inches
