Description

Condition: the molded top trim is missing from this clock. There are plenty of examples to use as a guide for a top, see Ortenburger's book Vienna Regulators and Factory Clocks, page 48, and also Kaltenbock's book titled Viennese Timepieces, pages 215-217. Otherwise this is a very nice clock, with long 72 beat case, attractive rosewood veneer (minor imperfections and trim loss commensurate with age), good dial, original hands, pulleys and weights (some dings in weights). Front glass is new and has a crack growing from the left. Retains nice pendulum bob, brass both sides. 4-spoke star pattern pulleys, and well made movement with chamfered corners and free standing gong base. Height 46 inches
