Description
Condition: Maybe 70 years ago, the bottom of the clock got broken away and a determined owner had his repairman make a new splat from his memory..it has sure been there a long time. But investigation reveals that the lower design is cut into the wood, rather than pressed and the center owl has been cut out of veneer and then glued onto the splat. Having said these things, this is an uncommon and desirable Gilbert model, and even a collector can accept these changes allowing of course for the price he pays. From a distance there is NO awareness of the restoration. There is also a shelf model of this clock. Height 24.5 inches
