Description
Condition: Overall very good condition, there are some corner scratches, a repair to the base just above one foot, and the top got scraped by something and has been blacked over. Porcelain in the temperature-compensating pendulum and dial are perfect; moon hands original. The well made bell strike movement is signed with the Silver award medallion of Japy for exhibition years 1844-1849, so it is likely the movement would have been made in the decade following. Their awards were prolific and they updated their die with each new award. Height 19 inches
