Description

8 day, solid plate movement is signed "Deutsches Reich Patent", which translates, German Empire Patent. The movement has enclosed spring barrels, outside count wheel, strikes half hour on a large melodic gong. Art Nouveau features are fine tracing of floral motifs on the front of the case, unusual flower and petal stem hands, great floral design cast brass pendulum, and brass dial with birds, swans, forest, water, and a sunrise scene. Overall in mint condition and an excellent runner. Heavy mahogany case is 23.5 inches high, hinged at the top to access the movement. There are two side doors, and a latch to hold the two-part case together.
