Description
The movement marked twice, "France", and, "Made in France". It is inside the mahogany base.The globe was made by "Georgaphia Ltd. 55 Fleet Str. London EG". Their label on the globe reads, "Geographia 6 Inch Terrestrial Globe". British Possessions are shown in red, steamer routes in Sea-miles, etc. For its age, the globe is in very good condition with a few rub spots. This globe is 13 inches high. The lever movement rotates the globe once every 24 hours and the pointer is set to local time. You can calculate the time anywhere in the world by adding or subtracting the time at any point on the globe. Similar globe clocks regularily sell for $3500 and up at East coast auctions.
