Description

Ansonia used at least three different statue groups on their Florida bases and the French also used different statue groups. This is the second different French statue group I have had. (See No. 262) This group is signed by the sculptor, "Math Moreau". The playful young maidens have been collection grapes and flowers. Bruce Baziluk restored this clock in Silver-Queen's Gray, except the rope of flowers is goldbronze and the bezel is brass. It has a typical French round 8 day movement, bell strike, outside count, signed by, "L.Marti". This is a large clock, standing 30 inches high. Similar clocks are in Ly-Ansonia, pages 378-379. The Ansonia counterparts have been selling for $5000 at auctions, and more on EBay.
