Description
The headpiece is solid walnut, old, and very nicely carved and has been with the clock a long time. I do not think it could have been veneered the way it is carved. The case is tight and appears to have a good original finish. The porcelain dial is two-piece, very nice and free of any hairlines. The weights pulleys, pendulum bob, and dial rings are all polished and in good condition. There is also a nice porcelain beat scale. The weights have a couple of minor dents. The 8-day movement strikes hours and half hours on a coiled gong. It is clean and has been completely rebushed, and should now be good for another 125 years.
