Description
Great looking mahogany case has a polished finish not usually seen on German floor clocks, broken arch top, 2 key locking doors, and glass in both doors. There are full columns on the bonnet section that have brass capitals and bases. Excellent brass dial with engraved figures resembling mythical birds and other things. The pendulum got misplaced in the move so we installed a new pendulum bob and stick. They look fine and the clock is running. The 8 day Westminster chime movement is dirty and getting tired but should give a few years service before an overhaul is required. It chimes on 4 rods and strikes the hours on a reverberating coil gong. The movement is signed by Junghans. This clock looks a whole lot more like American than German.
