Description
Someone must have had his or her head in the kraut barrel the day that case was made. Ca about 1900 when the kilns in Germany were cooking millions of cases for Ansonia and other companies. There is an abundance of gold decorations of vines, flowers, and fruit, covering the sides and back of the case. There are no case marks of any kind. The movement is 8 day, half hour and hour gong strike. Beveled glass in the Rocco sash, nice one-piece porcelain dial, and original hands. The case is 10 inches high, 9.25 inches wide.
