Description
There are 3 good glasses. From the case style we think it could easily date back to the early 1800's. On the lower door front is a brass plaque engraved with, "B Scher Uhmacher k.k. ger. Beeid. Schatzmeister WIEN.X. Eugehplatz No. 13". Having studied German in college I can report to you, that is the makers name and address. The smaller than usual weight is polished but has its share of age spots. The pendulum bob is typical Vienna. Also there is a nice porcelain beat scale and a two piece 6.25 inches porcelain dial, free of chips, but does have hairlines. The 8 day time only movement runs very strong and there is a good set of old matching hands.
