Description
Antique shelf or mantel clock by W. L. Gilbert Winsted Connecticut. This clock has exceptional reverse painted glasses. Circa 1870 - 75. Size is 11" x 8 3/4" X 4", dial diameter is 3 7/8", minute track to minute track 5 1/4" x 5 3/8" overall. Condition is 100% original and mint. Both reverse painted glasses are original and mint, untouched. The finish on the rosewood case is mint. It was lightly cleaned and three coats of cabinet wax have been applied. The dial is original, enameled zinc, exceptional condition with only a few touch-ups. The 30-hour timepiece movement has been completely rebuilt. Label is original and excellent. A few small veneer repairs done very well. This clock is a good time keeper with a strong pendulum amplitude. No negatives about this clock.
