Description

Antique clock, miniature blue Delft porcelain, grandfather clock 18" tall, rare 8 day. W Miniature Dutch bombay longcase clock, signed Holland Delft. Circa 1850-1870. 100 % original. Height 18", width at the base 6 1/4", depth 4". Many additional photos for viewing. The French 8-day, long pendulum, clockworks is original to the case as is the wonderful porcelain dial with blue numerals. Dial diameter is 2 1/2". Original gold gilt pierced hands. The French clockworks is not signed, however, I feel strongly it is either Vicenti or Marti, (it is of that quality). On the backplate are the serial number 3794 and 11-4, which is the pendulum length. The works are of the early style, 1850 - 1870. The plates are pinned together. It has been professionally restored, runs and keeps very good time. The movement is original to the case. The ceramic case is marked on the bottom with the serial number and AK, which is the mark for Holland delft. The case is in incredible condition with only slight crazing in the glaze; this I would expect for a clock of this age. Refer to the photos for the detailed view of the work in the case. There are two tiny pin head chips: on the left front foot and the right side of the base, and a small crack at the tip top of the clock. See photo of top. Amazing that this clock survived two World Wars.
