Description

Condition: the seat board has come loose and the entire movement has shifted downward in the case, and will need attention. This good 18th century clock retains much of the original case decorations (with quality restoration). The movement with a good brass dial with queen spandrels, rise and fall in the arch (via suspension spring), faux pendulum aperture, date aperture at 6. The hands are replacements, and hour hand is loose; needs new screws. Engraved and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers. The rear plate is profusely engraved with a standing lady playing the violin. Worth investing in some restoration on this early piece. Height 21 inches
