Description

Condition: Marble case is generally good condition with some roughness on some of the sharp corners; the front panel has a split and glue repair in the center (hard to see), and the rear panel has old repairs. There is some surface rust on the steelwork of the movement and calendar mechanism. Note this is a perpetual calendar, correcting for short months; dial also with signs of the Zodiac; top dial with open escapement. The upper portion of the case has shifted a little on the base. You will have to loosen the hold-down pins and shift the top over a little; not uncommon with marble cases. Back when the southern collectors were buying these, they seemed to bring $2,000 and up Height 16 inches
