Description

The case is wood with adamantine finish of black and orange. It has darkened with age and not at all objectionable as it is, but most collectors will want to clean it to bring out the orange colors. Feet, end pieces, caps and bases on the columns, were all originally gilt finished. Now very dark and cleaning would probably remove the remaining gilt. Just when I think I have seen everything here comes this original ST dial. Nothing like it showing in the catalogs. It looks like hearts emulating out from the hand arbor. It is perforated and behind is a paper dial. The factory stamp on the back of the case looks like 1889 or 1899. 80% of a label on the back, but it is hard to read.
