Description
Heavy wood case is 19.75 inches high, 11.25 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. The case is painted cream, now dirty and chipped. Full back door with hook latch. Metal half columns on top, wood half columns on the bottom, all 4 columns with metal capitals and bases. It is a rather plain case other-wise. There is no dial, bezel, etc. over the movement, but the hands are there. The bottom movement is an 8 day, striking a standing gong, outside count wheel, and is unsigned. It has a broken spring, otherwise complete and running. There is a trip wire running from lower to upper movement. I didn't determine if it tripped every hour, half hour, or something else. The upper movement is also 8 day, double wind. No pendulum, release of power regulated by the lower movement. Its purpose is to operate whatever performs on the stage. The stage is above the movement. Neither of the movements or the case is marked, however I did not remove the movements to check the front sides. Both movements are running. If restored it could be worth 2000 dollars or more.
