Description

I have never seen a clock like this one. It isn't one you will brag about unless you spend a lot of time cleaning the very dirty metal case. Part of the attached metal piece on the lower right side may be missing; on the other hand, both of the attached metal pieces on the base may be a later addition to this case. Restored right it may be a keeper but the minimum shows what I think about the clock. Numerals, center of the dial, and the name "Vier Nantes", are high-lighted in red to match the 3 portraits. Typical French 8 day movement, bell strike, outside count wheel, and signed 2 ways. "Dasson a Godeau, Paris", is probably the selling dealer; and "Japy Freres" is signed with their award winning imprint. There is a bowed and beveled glass over the dial, and a 2 piece back door with glass, that is cracked. The clock is trying to run, probably out of beat. Clock is 14.25 inches high. All else aside, the portraits are fabulous.
