Description

The wheel is very heavily and fancifully carved. The wheel is 17 inch in diameter. There is a heavy brass bezel with beveled glass, fitted to the wood wheel. The 5.25 inch silver plated dial fastens to the wood case with 6 screws. Movement is 8 day, double spring, and seconds dial. Fastened to the back of the wood case is an 8.5 inch brass plate to which the movement fastens. It is running. This clock is not in the Seth Thomas catalogs; therefore I would guess some enterprising sailor in the First World War must have taken a ships clock, carved a beautiful ships wheel and put them together.
