Description
This was a custom order clock for a wealthy German. Mr. Pleissner employed a signed W+H dual chime movement of the highest quality, and crafted a fine case around the 24Ò short bedplate Polyphone with super tone. He used piano hinges on top and center doors, and cantilever hinges on the music door. The inside of the case is black lacquer rubbed to a high sheen. There is a trip that plays the Polyphone periodically, or you can operate it manually from the lower door. The case is mahogany moldings with veneers on the flats, the upper case separates from the music box and is held with 4 steel brackets. Impressive looking and sounding. Very heavy. Height 108 inches
