Description
Art Nouveau walnut case 42" high, simple lines yet they jazzed it up with the gold on the bottom glass, heavily beveled top glass and the tapered and carved base. The bottom glass was etched then gold filled giving the look of leaded glass. The 8 day movement hooks on 4 posts, strikes a rod gong on the half hours. Brass dial is 8 inches square, spandrels on the corners. Dial ring is silver with bronze gilt, showing some wear. The movement is signed with the Junghans trademark that they only used from the 1890's to the 1920's. The brass weights, brass pendulum, and metal beat scale, are all very nice.
