Description
I looked at the front with white cartouche numerals, gold plated metal attachments, brass chains, brass dial, and uncommon looking wood back, and I almost wrote this one up as French. On a lark I pulled the dial off and found a double spring, marine type movement, front and back plates signed, "Seth Thomas Thomaston, Conn", and the ST logo stamped elsewhere on the plates. No movement number on the front plate. It is running, how long I don't know, with two big springs surely will run 15 days. Spring barrels are enclosed. I don't find the clock in Ly-Seth Thomas. It is 24" high when hanging. Note the bird and eggs above the dial.
