Description

They were Furtwangen-Black Forest clockmakers of long standing. This clock is a notch above the average, 34" high, made of mahogany rather than the normal oak cases. They didn't spend a lot of time with carvings or fancy applied decorations, they just made a plain and very serviceable clock. The movement is very large, solid plate, 8 rods striking 8 gong rods. Good silver 24 hour marked dial, 2 pieces of glass, and slats over the bottom to give the impression of a more expensive case that might have several pieces of beveled glass. Side doors for inspection and sound escape route. They made excellent and inexpensive clocks.
