Description
Unlike the other 3 Comptoise clocks in this part of the auction, this one has a large repoussé pendulum with grapes and wheat harvest theme that matches the dial surround. The are 2 gold painted iron weights that are behind the pendulum in the foto. The movement is ticking and striking but would benefit from an oiling. This clock strikes on a large coiled wire gong behind the movement. Also note, the top 6" of the pendulum separated from the rest, and it was reinforced with a 6" strip of rolled brass (the old piece is still there behind it). Height 57 inches
