Description
This is a quality clock, with a unique and well made bell strike movement, with drive mechanism turning at a 90 degree angle from the rear plate and extending up to drive the globe at top. The globe is printed in French, has 100 years of nicotine, but is still quite legible; there is an old mark indicating the globe assembler as Edouard Serin. There are 24 small porcelain cartouche around the brass ring at the equator to make it relatively easy to tell the time at any point on the globe; one cartouche with restoration. The black marble case is in good condition, with only minor base chips commensurate with the age of the clock. Movement w/ E.S. mark has been professionally cleaned and is running. Height 21 inches
