Description

This is no. 491, and dated Sept. 1944. The tiger maple case is in good original condition with the original pendulum, weight and counter weight. There is a chip in the case along the lower margin, and the pendulum stick has been glued together (still looks OK) Note also that this retains the original angled wall bracket for hanging the clock. Mr. Smith was an eccentric individual who started making these clocks as gifts to friends, and when they were so well received, switched to selling them. See also lot 306. Height of case 12.50", as pictured 25 inches
