Description

Not to be outdone by Ansonia, Gilbert copied their own series of French figures. See next lot, with the French title "L'Amour", far more exotic a title than Archer. Note also that in 1902, Gilbert offered the same statue on a simpler base, calling it William Tell. Like Ansonia, Gilbert's statues were interchangeable on bases, but they chose to name the entire clock, rather than X base with Y statue. Height 32 inches
