Description

center seconds hand and compensating mercurial pendulum, in good original condition. The original finish has been rubbed out nicely and with a coat of wax; the crotch mahogany veneer is exceptional. Instead of mercury, there is a sleeve of silver colored mylar in the glass jar (much safer), however mercury is available from several sources and you can always choose to add it later. The movement is mounted in an iron frame and in turn to a seat board. A finely engraved beat scale is mounted in the bottom of the case and the clock runs reliably and with substantial swing to the pendulum. Height 76 inches
