Description

The restored wood case with applied wood elements is in generally good condition, with losses and restoration. The clock has a nice engine turned bezel and dial surround. The dial was polished to brass, and has had raised numerals applied. It probably had a silvered chapter ring with numbers painted on originally. The hands and finials are not original (Terry style top finial should be an eagle). There would have been gilt wood accents either side of the dial, where the two narrow finials are placed (see any reference on Austrian mantel clocks). 2 center columns poorly replaced. Silk thread suspension. Movement is running and striking. Height 26.5 inches
