Description
Excellent work by someone. The collector who owned this clock says it is a factory (German) constructedcase. In that I have never seen another like it, I would lean more towarda cabinetmaker with too much time on his hands making the case. Truly a greatlooking clock, it is 82" high and 19" wide, 2 doors that latch with hooks. The upper door over the dial has glass behind the scroll work. There is alsoglass behind the scrollwork on the sides. The movement mounts in thecase like a German Wag, just hanging on a nail. 2 brass-bullet weights, leadfilled. Wood pendulum bob and stick, cuckoo style. The clock part is neat, wood plates, brass gears, chain pull up, running 8 days. Strikes a cuckootype coil gong, half hours and hours. There is a pull cord to advance thestrike sequence. Dial surround is wood, 11.5" square. Porcelain dial ringis 7" and has a small break and repair at 3 oÕclock. It has a wood inner dial, and brass dial ring.
