Description

Painted gold vines above the dial, gold musical instruments, vines, on the sides, and the back. Also painted in gold on the back, "Made in France". The scene on the front was said to be, George and Martha Washington. I seriously doubtthat. There are also painted scenes on the round porcelain columns oneach side with bronze capitals and bases. The clock is 24 inches high, 14inches wide. 8 day round French movement, strikes a standing gong on the halfhours. The movement is signed by the great French clock making family, "Marti".French sash, bowed and beveled glass, hand painted porcelain dial with figureof a cupid. Arabic numbers inside the dial ring, 60 minute numbers paintedoutside the ring. The clock is trying to run, needs to be serviced beforeyou put it on the shelf for good. There are some age hairlines, but no seriousbreaks, chips, or cracks. This is, and will be, an outstanding clockwhen cleaned. I have a feeling it might be very valuable. It definitely hasthe look of being valuable.
