Description

The circular shaped marble and gilt case hangs by a ribbon-tie, with olive and leaf surround. The convex white porcelain dial has Arabic numerals and 15 minute Arabic divisions. The beautiful cut hands are original. Machined French sash, convex beveled glass, all excellent. Damage to the white marble case below the dial from 3 to 7 oÕclock, cracks filled and color blended tocase. The excellent repair is not visible when hanging. The case has been professionally restored and the movement serviced. The back plate is bronze as is all the front decorations. 8 day, time only, front wind movement is running very well. A hinged back opens to service the cylinder escapement. Height is 8.5". We rarely see these small ornately finished clocks, but the last one we saw sold for about $1300 at SchmittÕs November 2002 Auction.
