Description
The 18-1/2 inch case is in two sections, the bottom has porcelain portraits and other brass decorations. The top section has a bronze eagle on the top and four bronze supports with cast figures. There is a bronze framed, beveled glass window to allow viewing of the balance wheel on the jeweled platform escapement. The movement is rectangular in shape, has solid plates and cut pinions. It is an unsigned 8 day movement, but we feel certain it is of German origin. The minute and hour annular rings are made up of porcelain segments attached to brass cylinders. This is a most unusual timepiece in virtually mint condition. It is running and the time cylinders are moving properly.
