Description
In addition to being heavy, it is large; the clock is 26 inches high, candelabras 28 inches high. Many cast bronze pieces fitted together. There are angels on the urn top, a goddess and a lion on the base, and a multitudeof pieces that look like vines and leaves from top to bottom. The bronzedial has cartouche numerals recessed in the cutouts, and a cartouche insertreading, "Boer and Fils, a La Haye". Beveled glass over the dial. 8 dayround movement, bell strike, correct pendulum, running. The base is engraved, "1857-1882, Zijne Dankbare, Gerneentenaren 7 December". It needs to be cleaned. IÕve never tried it, but I was told a brush and ammonia would make it brightagain.
